Dr. James M. Yu received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University at New Brunswick specialized in mathematical modeling and simulation of biophysical phenomena. He authored and co-authored over 10 peer-reviewed research articles in prestigious journals such as Physical Review Letters, along with a book chapter and a patent. He also serves as a reviewer of high-impact physical journals, including Physical Review series, reflecting his contribution to the academic community and his expertise in the field.

Currently, Dr. Yu is a faculty member at Fei Tian College Northern Campus in Middletown, New York where he turns his interest to applied mathematics in the frontier of data science and quantum computing. As an experienced and dedicated instructor, he teaches linear algebra, statistics, applied mathematics, and programming. He is passionate about developing a systematic pedagogical framework for quantum computing and has co-authored the textbook “Mathematical Foundations of Quantum Computing: A Scaffolding Approach.”
